About the event

Join me to map out your family dynamics and unearth the invisible rules which are governing your behaviour and thinking, the loyalties which are keeping you stuck in toxic situations, or the reoccurring trauma which belongs not with you but a relation you are unconsciously identifying with.

In a family constellations workshop you can come either as ‘issue holder' or a ‘representative’ .

If you are an issue holder you and I will have a discussion about your symptom or problem and I will ask you questions about your family of origin. I will then ask you to choose members of the group (other workshop participants) to represent individuals in your family and you will be responsible for placing these representatives around the room. The idea is to create a visual representation of the family and by tuning into some of the nuances between the members of the system you can get a clearer understanding of your place and your (often unconscious) roles within the family. I will keep checking in with the representatives to get feedback on how it feels to be standing in the position they have been placed, which also serves to shed light on the family dynamics. The representatives almost always report that they get a very strong sense of how it must have felt for that family member, and are usually quite astonished by this.

For example, there may have been a tragedy in a former generation that split the family and ended with someone being scapegoated, which in turn created a feeling of anger and shame, which in turn energetically entered the family system appearing, sometimes generations later as a sense of not belonging or of feeling constantly ostracised. Not until we turn to face these hidden stories from our past can we set ourselves free from the ‘rules’ of the family system.

People often bring issues around money, problems with their children, issues with relationships and ex partners, work challenges, addictions, in fact anything that you are struggling with and cannot resolve. Themes which reoccur are problems arising from illness, adoption, early pregnancy, rape, sexual abuse, early deaths, excluded family members, war, migration and genocide.

You can choose how much or little you wish to participate and you will be held in a safe and confidential setting.
